Black Poppy


Black Poppy  (Papaver somniferum var paeoniflorum in Kew Gardens, Richmond upon Thames.

Swift growing annuals, with pain relieving alkaloids used in medicine.

Black Poppy plants prefer a full sun position and very fast-draining soil, with plenty of nitrogen.

Kew Gardens - Brunfelsia pauciflora


Brunfelsia pauciflora 'Macrantha' also known as Royal Purple Brunfelsia is a sprawling evergreen shrub which grows to 3-4 feet tall and as wide.

The 2-4 inches wide deep lavender flowers with white centres and wavy edged petals appear in spring and often repeating in autumn.

A very attractive plant for well-watered lightly shaded areas in the garden.
